The MIND Diet

Keep Food in MIND

When it comes to preventing AD, nothing is more important than what you eat. The AD Foundation recommends the MIND diet. It’s based on solid science, easy to follow, and delicious!

Sleep Away AD

The key to dental hygiene is brushing regularly, and the key to mental hygiene is sleeping regularly. Try going to bed an hour earlier and reading instead of watching TV or surfing the web.

Crossword Puzzles

It’s the Thought that Counts

You know what they say: use it or lose it. And if you want to keep it, there is no better way than to engage in mental activities, like reading, word games or even crossword puzzles.

Get Together

The simple act of being social is remarkably potent medicine. Hang out with friends and family, volunteer, or even join a club. Not only will you make great memories, you’ll get to keep them!

Find the “Off” Switch

As important as it is to stay mentally active, a remarkably effective way of staving of AD is by doing the opposite—meditating. New to meditation? Consider trying yoga.

Medical Food Cocktail

A Tablet a Day

With so many dietary supplements out there, it’s hard to know which to take. We recommend a medical food cocktail that contains a whole bunch of them—and is scientifically tested.

Keep Moving

A healthy body means a healthy mind. We all know it’s true. But you don’t have to be a triathlete to stave of AD. Simple things like walking or yoga are easy and fun to do. Just keep moving!

Don’t Do This

Want to prevent AD? Then don’t do things that promote it, like watching TV, sitting for long periods, smoking or eating red meats and sugary foods. Just a little inaction goes a long way!

Find a Cause

People who have a strong sense of purpose are less likely to get AD. Find something you are passionate about. Consider volunteering. You can even join the AD Foundation.

Strength Training
